Yeedi 2 Hybrid Review

Review Yeedi 2 Hybrid

And like a few days ago, this time we repeat with a robot vacuum cleaner. The new Yeedi 2 Hybrid vacuum cleaner is a complete and autonomous robot for cleaning our home. Will it be worth increasing the budget a bit to get this robot vacuum cleaner that includes mapping?

A few weeks ago, we reviewed the Yeedi K650 robot vacuum cleaner, and today, we brought the new Yeedi 2 Hybrid robot vacuum to put it to the test and compare it a bit with its previous version.

This robot comes in a very large box with the brand’s markings all over it. It is a box that includes a tray where we find an instruction manual and the robot vacuum cleaner occupying the entire tray practically.

Below, we find the charging station, a current European transformer, two propellers, the scrubbing mop, and spare parts.

The robot includes the CE (European Conformity) symbol that indicates that it meets the legal and technical minimums for safety to be marketed in Europe.

As with other robots, it comes practically assembled, and you only have to place the propellers and the mop cloth. Along with the dust container, it includes a small brush to clean the filter. This is also very easy to assemble and disassemble.
CONNECTIVITY AND SOFTWARE

This robot vacuum cleaner does not vary much concerning its predecessor. It brings 2 modes of operation: with a mobile application or manually.

The easiest way is to use it manually:

It is very simple, and you have to turn it on with the button under the lid (it is advisable always to have it on so that it can charge) and press the top button to start working. In this way, the robot will begin to clean the entire surface using its sensors.

Pressing the button a second time will pause and freeze. If we hold it down for 5 seconds, the cleaning will finish, returning to the charging base. This operating mode can be used for houses that do not have WiFi or people who do not clarify the application.
Yemeni

If we want to use it with an application to get the most out of it, we can download it from the official Android application stores by simply putting in Google Play: yeedi or putting it in the App Store: yeedi.

It is compatible with both Android and iOS.

This application includes many configuration options, but in this case, it took me a little longer to pair it with the robot. You have to follow the instructions that appear in the app, and in a matter of minutes, we will have it ready to work.

The first thing to do is open the application, select the model of the robot we have, give it location permission and turn on the WiFi. We enter the WiFi network and password in the application and continue.

On the other hand, you also have to turn on the robot to be linked. Subsequently, the app will generate a QR code that will be read with the robot’s upper camera. (This has seemed curious to me, in addition to that, it has been difficult for me to scan with the robot).

Finally, it has been necessary to update the firmware of the Yeedi 2 Hybrid.

With this robot, the functionalities of the app change a bit.

The main one is that it allows you to map the plan of the house. It does this through Visual-SLAM technology, which, using the sensors and the camera, recognizes the layout of your house and memorizes a map. To do this, the first few times (at least 3 times), you will have to go all over the house to do so. Generate the plan of our home. Later this plan will allow us to edit it a bit.

In my case, I have not seen cleaning modes, and they will always clean in the same way. (That is, I cannot select only the perimeter of the house).

On the other hand, the cleaning power can also be selected in the settings menu: Standard, Max, and Max +. (Does not include silent mode).

This robot has several languages, including Spanish or English.

In the app, we also have a meter of the uses of the accessories that recommend us when it would be necessary to change them.

On the other hand, there is also an option in which the time and mode can be programmed so that the robot aspirador gets to work.

Synchronize it with Google Home:
Chromecast App

To synchronize it with Google Home, follow the same steps as the Yeedi K650: open the Google Assistant application, click on our profile and select “Assistant settings.” Now we must go to “Devices,” click on the “Add a device” button, and on the next screen, select “Link a device.”

Then you have to select “Yeedi” and enter our credentials so that Google has access to our account.

With this, we can get our robot to obey our orders.

Design and Materials

It is a robot very similar to the Yeedi K650 and other models in terms of dimensions and design. It has an approximate diameter of 350mm, and a height of 77mm, and its empty weight is approximately 3.6Kg.

As with its previous version, it is a very elegant device with a very well-kept design. However, it is only available in white.

The top is bright white. But what strikes me the most is the large chamber in the center. This is used to link the robot with the application and to map the plan of the house.

On the front of the robot, we can see a moving part (which acts as a bumper) and a black glass screen that includes all the motion sensors. From what I have been able to research, it includes a full suite of navigation sensors (infrared-based), fall arrest sensors that identify stairs or cliffs, and collision sensors that help avoid collisions with obstacles (such as furniture).

This means that the upper camera can map the house and place itself in each room for more precise cleaning. (Which the Yeedi K650 didn’t do.)

This model does not have buttons on the sides.

At the back, you can see the water tank.

The lower part is made up of several parts. On the one hand, we have two fall arrest sensors just in front of a moving wheel (which is in charge of making the robot turn), two side brushes that are in charge of collecting the dust and introducing it towards the center, and next to the two propulsion wheels there is the main brush that is responsible for absorbing the dust. It is a 2500 pascal suction motor.

In this lower part, you can add the tray of the cleaning cloth designed to pass the mop or mop.

If we compare it with the previous version, it is practically the same except for the upper camera and the placement of the on and off buttons.
